The 2019 Silenus 'Tyros' Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is made from fruit from a combination of the winery's estate vineyard in Oak Knoll combined with fruit from Pope Valley, Rutherford, and St. Helena plus Merlot from Carneros. The wine was aged for 22 months in 50% new French Oak. The winery is certified Napa Green and all vineyards are farmed sustainably and are moving forward to becoming carbon neutral. This gem is loaded with elegant yet powerfully framed blackberry, currant, and black cherry layered with hints of shaved chocolate, brambly spice, and cedar with a touch of graphite and perfumed tobacco.
Juicy and ripe, but on a modest scale, allowing cassis and blackberry notes to hold sway without undue effort over a backdrop of loam, singed vanilla and tobacco. Drink now through 2030.
