Just bottled with 11% stated alcohol, Donnhoff's 2024 Riesling trocken VDP.Gutswein opens with a remarkably intense and aromatic yellow stone fruit aroma intermingled with complex and saline terroir notes of the middle Nahe. Fresh and savory on the palate, this is a light- to medium-bodied, straight, pure and fresh dry Riesling with remarkable intensity and sustainability on the finish and a saline and savory aftertaste. This is not as light and charming as the off-dry twin but more serious in its terroir expression. It needs some weeks or months to calm down a bit. Tasted in April 2024.
