A lovely garnet color. An amazing vibrant nose of red licorice and grape, deepened with peppery spice. The mouth is exuberant, with sweet red fruit held in check with vibrant acids and some serious tannins. The finish shows sweet spice and more licorice. A great wine to demonstrate that intense flavors are possible without dark color. Drink any time in the next six to ten years.
Due to be bottled in February of 2023, the 2021 Grenache is shaping up to be a complex yet generous Grenache. It has a medium ruby color and youthfully gregarious aromas of raspberry, strawberry and pomegranate complemented by tones of tobacco and tea leaves, orange peel and underbrush. The medium-bodied palate features concentrated yet finely detailed berry fruit and earthy nuances, a support of chalky tannins and juicy acidity and a very long finish.
