The 2017 Perinet 'Merit' Priorat is a succulent blend of 35% Syrah, 25% Grenache, 20% Carignan, and 20% Merlot grown on the famous 'licorella' black slate soils that make Priorat's high-altitude vineyards so unique. The Syrah and Grenache bring red berry fruit and floral notes, while the Carignan and Merlot add velvety texture and earthiness to the wine. Add in some smoky minerality and this Spanish Red is a wine lover's dream! This wine is unfined and unfiltered to preserve an array of aromas. We poured this wine at our Grand Tasting Event here in Santa Barbara it sold more than any other wine in the tasting!
Blackberry and slate with ink and lead pencil aromas and flavors. Medium-bodied with fine tannins and a fresh and focused finish. Nice citrus character at the end.
