Cinnamon, liquorice, black pepper, gingerbread and salinity. Bottled unfiltered. If the sense of terroir-driven power were to be encapsulated by a vineyard site, that site would have to be Rouanne. Our 2020 Vinsobres is packed full of intensity, length, fullness, depth, and enigma. ‘Château de Rouanne’, Pierre Grieu, fine-point drawing, 2018"
A blend of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre, the classic 2020 Vinsobres from this château is beautiful and has a round, supple, elegant, medium to full-bodied style as well as textbook blackberry and black raspberry fruits, some peppery herb and floral nuances, remarkable purity, and a great finish. It's one heck of an impressive Vinsobres to drink over the coming 8-10 years.
Alluring damson plum and winey cherry flavors introduce this concentrated red, bound up with muscular tannins and flecked with bitter dark chocolate, cigar box and spices. Hefty in weight, with a lot of concentration, yet a refreshing herbal edge brings lift through the warm, lengthy finish. Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre.
