About Kleemeir Wines: I make wine that I enjoy drinking, and at this stage of my winemaking career, I do not have any bounds or restrictions on what I will be making and releasing. Hopefully something different every year. I take an attentive and professional approach to every wine I work with and I like to think of myself more of a shepherd that guides the wine along its way, until it embellishes the best definition of its variety and terroir. About Axel: My story isn’t unlike many other winemakers before me. With no formal schooling, I learned everything by doing and by reading. I spent many years as a cellar rat, performing vineyard maintenance and pouring in a tasting room in order to earn money to help pay my way through college. In 2018 I got my start as a winemaker by conjuring up my own batch of merlot. Since then, I have worked with many different varieties being sure not to set bounds on myself with what I want to make and work with. I started Kleemeier Wines in 2022 with the intention that the wines not only showcase variety and terroir, but also personality, essence, and passion. I created this company to be equal parts high quality wine and creative outlet. I like to think every single wine I produce shows a different part of the earth, and man behind it.
