We love the Panzanello because we feel like this juicy red is just coming into its own right now. The Panzanello estate was planted back in 1427, hence the reference and the family who currently owns the vines transitioned the estate to organic viticulture in 1998. Juicy dark cherry, roasted almond skin, dried cranberry, and tarragon, round on the palate with lip-smacking acidity that keeps this wine drinking fresh. It's an easy pairing with Pizza or a cheese & charcuterie plate, but will hold up to Osso Bucco or your best beef ragu!
I like the dark, almost broody character to this CC, which offers plenty of crushed black berries and currants, together with some forest-floor and smoky, almost coffee-grains character. Blends very nicely on the medium-bodied palate and both the fruity and savory elements latch onto the medium tannins nicely, to give good drive and decent length. Nicely controlled. This will be better after another year or so in bottle. Try from 2023.
