Jean-Marc Brocard has some of the oldest vines in Chablis and the crazy thing is this humble "entry-level Chablis" comes from vines that are over 30 years old and planted on prime Kimmeridgian limestone soils that are bio-dynamically farmed with no chemical pesticides or fertilizers. This wine is simply one of the most pure and wonderfully vivacious expressions of Chardonnay that you will find! This electric white is loaded with lemon and key lime layered with hints of tropical fruits that give the wine an underlying kiss of richness on the palate. Added notes of vibrant citrus and crisp green apple fruits with smoky, chalky mineral characteristics leap out.

Decanter: 93 Points

Intriguing Chablis from this leading producer, based in Prehy. The kimmeridgian notes really come through here. Lovely concentration on the palate with weight and density. Plenty of acidity to balance the heft on the palate, all supported by a long, mineral finish with a slightly saline edge. Stands out compared to many other Chablis in this tasting. No hurry to drink this - it will improve with further ageing.
