In the glass, this is textbook Pauillac with a refined edge: the nose is layered with blackcurrant, crushed blackberry, and dark plum intertwined with graphite, cedar, tobacco leaf, and hints of violet. The palate is full and structured but already beautifully knit, showing waves of cassis, espresso, and baking spice framed by polished tannins and fresh acidity. There’s a distinct mineral streak that adds lift, leading into a long, elegant finish of dark chocolate, smoky oak, and lingering spice.
Glossy black cherry and blueberry fruit with a voluptuous smoky quality from the lashings of new French oak. The fine pencil-shaving tannins are already starting to melt away revealing a rewarding freshness. Very smart wine.
*Editor's Choice* With a ripe black currant aroma and layers of blackberry and spice, the wine is juicy, with weight and a firm core. The wine will take its time to develop. Keep until at least 2028.
