AXR Winery was founded by three friends and 100pt-scoring winemaker Jean Hoefliger who has been crafting the wines and managing the Alpha Omega Winery for the past 15+ years. AXR sources some of the top vineyards in Napa Valley.
This wine is 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Malbec, 7% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Petit Verdot which was aged in 40% New French Oak for 12 months. The grapes come from a combination of vineyards in Oak Knoll, Yountville, and Coombsville. This wine is a coiled spring of power and vibrant blueberry and black cherry compote that leaps out of the glass with vivid blue and red fruits, and layers of strawberry and raspberry that open into hints of chocolate and toasted vanilla. The tannins are gorgeously polished and silky. Savory cedar and baking spices dance on the palate and spin to a juicy finish.
